The Dow Changes

AT&T, Kodak and International Paper have been removed from the Dow 30. Kodak joined the Dow in 1930, AT&T in 1939, and International Paper in 1956.

I don't pay any attention to the Dow; consequently, it doesn't matter to me that AIG (financial services), Verizon (telecommunications), and Pfizer (drugs) are the new Dow members.

The Dow is the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) and it the unit of measurement for the New York Stock Exchange.

I'm not sure why AT&T was removed from the Dow; maybe it is the price they pay for forsaking Ma Bell.
