BARS::Basic Arithmetic Road Signs
...finding equations in road signs since 15 May 2005...

The goal of a Basic Arithmetic Road Sign (BARS) is turn learners of math into equationeers -- finders of equations. BARS were started as part of a Learning About Math resource that used road tripping as a theme. A road sign becomes a BARS when the numbers in the sign are used to find an equation. In a nutshell, each number in the sign must be used and each number can be used only once. Frequently used math functions can be used on the numbers (e.g. sqrt(n), cuberoot(n), log(n), factorial(n)). In addition, rsEvals are when the numbers in a sign are used in a math expression such that the expression evaluates to "special" numbers such as Pi, Phi, and 42.
